DKA Slide Set for Primary Care Education Sessions

DKA rates at diagnosis of diabetes continue to be high in England and Wales. Diabetes networks will be reviewing their local data and considering what actions they can put in place locally to help reduce this.

One strategy may be attending education days in primary care, presenting information on the importance of early diagnosis of diabetes, and educating on the correct process for diagnosis.

To help with this a working group has produced a standard lecture slide set that can be used in these presentations. Please feel to use this slide set as it is, or make changes to personalise it to your local area.

The slide set can be downloaded via this link Diabetes in children – Importance of Early Diagnosis – final v1 (Dec 2024)

As a reminder, there is also a shorter “e-learning” slide set on the website. This can be sent directly to health care practitioners as an attachment, or as a link to view on the website. This is designed for self-study and takes 5-10 minutes to work through – Here
