National Type 1 Diabetes Group
Clinically led by Dr Michael McGuigan and Dr Sanjay Gupta examples of the work that we will be looking into as a group are:
- Referral Pathway – timely diagnosis/DKA reduction
- Standardised Hospital Management – initial standardised education and quality of education, ward staff, initial competencies for parents, carers and children
- First Year of care – 6 months assessment on progress e.g. HbA1c, insulin sensitivity time
- Type 1 Diabetes IHCP in collaboration with the Schools, Social Care and System Integration Group
The group will also have the clinical support of Dr Alok Gupta and project managed by Margot Carson and Emma Savage
