Diabetes UK Update

Diabetes UK have just opened applications for a number of clinical leadership programmes. Please do share with any colleagues who you think might be interested in these.

 

Clinical Champions Programme

The Diabetes UK Clinical Champions programme is a unique opportunity for healthcare professionals to develop their personal leadership style and to learn new skills, which will help them to deliver a project to improve care in their area. This project will focus on an area of improvement that the Clinical Champion has identified as a pressing issue in their locality.

 

Clinical Champions get the following support:

  • Leadership training at the world-renowned Ashridge Business School
  • Peer support through Action Learning Sets
  • Improvement coaching from a dedicated Programme Manager
  • Media coverage to raise their profile
  • Ongoing support from Diabetes UK

More information available on their website. They will also be holding a session on Thursday 7 March 2019 at the Diabetes UK Professional Conference for interested applicants to talk to current and past champions about the programme.

 

NEW: Pharmacy Leaders

The Pharmacy Leaders programme aims to identify future pharmacist leaders and equip them with the skills and experience necessary to make tangible improvements to diabetes care across their local systems. You can read more about the programme here.

Deadline for applications is 5pm on Wednesday, 27 February.

 

Tomorrow’s Leaders

The Tomorrow’s Leaders programme, aims to give DSNs, dietitians and podiatrist the skills and knowledge to lead improvements in diabetes care.

Primary Care Leadership Programme

This is their latest leadership programme to support and grow local leaders to improve diabetes care; it is for any professional working in primary care with the enthusiasm and passion, and ideas for improving diabetes care in their local area.
